Crimson & Co is delighted to announce it supported South Yorkshire CIPS members by chairing a presentation on organisational design at an event held on 18th September 2014.
Matt York, Principal at Crimson & Co shared background to a survey conducted in conjunction with the University of Manchester, and introduced the concept that successful change requires alignment with organisational design. Without this alignment, factors such as organisational structure, rewards, culture and leadership style work directly against the change being implemented – a reality which was backed up by several of the survey’s respondents. This led to a lively discussion amongst attendees, who shared their own experiences of change and the common agreement that developing capabilities for their managers is a big priority.
Matt used the survey’s conclusions to discuss the main themes – the 3Cs. He challenged the attendees to ask themselves the following questions next time they feel that a change initiative has lost momentum;
• Have we provided the right level of Clarity to all involved?
• Have we done enough to gain their Commitment to the vision/outputs?
• Do we have the right level of Capability at all levels to deliver the plan?
Overall the evening was very successful and we would like to thank everyone that attended.
