Crimson & Co were Gold Sponsors at the Supply Chain Innovation Summit 2018 held in Singapore on 15th & 16th November. The event was attended by about 300 supply chain managers from Singapore, Asian and global companies. Chris Cave Jones, Crimson & Co Partner in the Singapore office, had a key speaking slot on the morning of the first day, where he gave a talk on putting emerging digital technologies into practice in today’s supply chains. He also chaired a panel discussion shaping the future of supply chains with panellists from Electrolux, Frost, Mondelez and the Asian Development Bank.
Crimson & Co had an exhibition stand which was well attended during the coffee breaks, where we had plenty of lively conversations and made some great contacts. Helping Chris to man the stand were Richard Powell and Alison Walthew from Crimson & Co UK, Frans Verheij and David Bissett from Crimson & Co Australia and Judy Lau from Crimson & Co Singapore.

Crimson & Co UK held its Winter Client Alumni dinner at The Goring Hotel, London on Thursday 8th November. As usual, attendees were from a broad spectrum of sectors, including life sciences, consumer goods, drinks, packaging, global logistics and high street and on-line retail, and all engaged in invaluable networking, discussion and debate throughout the evening.
Our guest speaker was Michel Savini, Managing Principal and Head of Digital at Crimson & Co in London. Michel explored the untapped potential of Digital in operations, using leading-edge examples from our projects and initiatives to bring the subject to life. Amongst others, the Internet of Things, Robotic Process Automation and Machine Learning/AI all figured in the discussion as Michel showed how Digital advances can support Supply Chain 4.0 and the performance of operations.

Crimson & Co India sponsored the 12th edition of the Express Logistics and Supply Chain Conclave in Mumbai.
Asia’s largest end-to-end supply chain platform attracted 240 speakers and over 750 supply chain professionals representing industries such as Automotive, Pharma, Retail, eCommerce, FMCG and Chemical. Amongst the exhibitors were material handling equipment providers, warehouse automation experts, 3PL and logistics service providers, and digital service providers across Asia.
Ravi, CEO, Crimson & Co India participated in a thought leadership panel discussion and shared his insights on innovation in network and inventory optimisation for omni channel fulfilment.
Crimson & Co Mumbai recently hosted an event on ‘Emerging trends in supply chain’. Consultants from our US, UK, France, India, Singapore and Australia offices were all in attendance with a range of topics shared over the event.
Jon Gibson, Associate Director, Crimson & Co UK spoke about the readiness of multi-national corporates to embrace Industry 4.0. He discussed the changes that Industry 4.0 will bring and how corporates could leverage them as opportunities.
Steve Mulaik, Partner, Crimson & Co North America, opened with Michael Jackson’s moonwalk video to set the tone for the topic of his presentation – robotics. Steve spoke passionately about improving productivity with the use of robotics, sharing videos of robots being used in warehouse picking operations. Steve was however sceptical about robots completely replacing humans.
Nicolas Gellé, Partner, Argon Consulting France, shared a case study on a successful experiment of real time container tracking through IoT. This real time tracking enables maritime logistics to go a step further, with companies able to receive their own information, independent from that provided by sea freight companies. This allows them to better plan onward freight movements.
There was a great interaction from the audience and all in all it turned out to be a successful morning of global knowledge sharing.

MODEX 2018 conference took place at The Georgia World Congress Centre, Atlanta, where the focus was ‘The foolproof way to futureproof your business’, looking at next-generation technology and equipment in action.
Crimson & Co also attend the eCommerce Operations Summit 2018 at the Greater Columbus Convention Centre, Ohio, where the focus was optimizing direct-to-customer and omnichannel operations and fulfillment.
Steve Mulaik, Partner at Crimson & Co North America presented at two sessions of the summit, consisting of a breakfast roundtable titled ‘WMS, WCS, WES: sorting it all out’, as well as a session on WMS 3.0 and how to benefit from the biggest changes in 20 Years. The information was well received by the guests.
