Thank you to all of our guests at our sixth client alumni event for making it such a success.
Speakers: Mike Rothwell, Richard Powell and Crispin Mair
Event: Client Alumni VI
Location: The Playboy Club, London
Date: Wednesday 23rd November 2011
Following on from the success of our fifth alumni event in June, we held a sixth event in association with our client, London Clubs International, at their prestigious new venue, The Playboy Club in London. Crimson & Co’s client alumni is an invite-only network for clients and former clients designed to foster supply chain leadership.
We would like to extend a huge ‘thank you’ to our joint host Mike Rothwell, Finance Director at LCI for co-hosting the evening and for providing an entertaining insight into how Playboy aligns its global brands with local operations. This stimulated much discussion over the evening and led to an insightful debate on: “Local is the new Global; how must the supply chain respond?”
We would like to thank our guests for such positive feedback, we will be announcing the details of our next event shortly.
Dave Alberts, Director of Crimson & Co was invited to speak at the Institute of Business Forecast Planning’s Supply Chain Conference on the 18th November in Amsterdam.
Dave’s presentation discussed the ‘The role of Demand Planning in S&OP – Overcoming obstacles to consensus.’ The importance of this topic was clearly demonstrated through case studies, including PZ Cussons, Dairy Crest and Avon.
A huge thank you goes out to all of our guests at our recent Champagne, Canapés and Wine Tasting evening for making it such a lively and successful evening!
Set in the cellars of the wonderfully worn-in Berry Brothers & Rudd wine shop near St James’s Palace, the Crimson & Co team was joined by partners, friends, suppliers and clients as it celebrated its continued success.
The champagne and canapés were decadent and enjoyable but, as usual, the highlight was the walk-around wine tasting, which this year was based on ‘Old world wines with New World attitude’ featuring premium old favourite grapes now grown in new regions such as Riesling, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Thank you to all of our guests at our fifth client alumni event for making it such a success.

We would like to extend an extra special ‘thank you’ to Michael Watson, Supply Chain Director at Avon Cosmetics and Jonathan Gibson, General Manager Distribution Opertational Excellence at Shell for hosting the discussion and to all our guests for their fascinating thoughts on the debate “Globalisation is dead, and the supply chain is the Board’s new competitive battleground.”

Crimson & Co is delighted to announce that it is sponsoring the European Supply Chain and Logistics Summit on 14th – 16th June 2011.
Now in its thirteenth year, SCL Europe brings together leading Supply Chain professionals from across Europe to discuss current supply chain issues and trends. The event includes the Supply Chain Distinction Awards, celebrating excellence across the supply chain.
On Thursday 12th May Crimson & Co launched its new book entitled “scprime®: The Journey to Supply Chain Excellence” at London’s decadent Dorchester Hotel.
Speaking at the event were Richard Powell, Managing Director of Crimson & Co and Nick Miller, editor of the book who gave an introduction into how scprime® aligns supply chain strategy to business strategy and drives competitive advantage.
Whilst guests sipped on champagne and enjoyed luxury canapés, Crimson consultants introduced the company’s scprime® brand, to highlight best practice across the supply chain industry.
Richard Powell, Managing Director of Crimson & Co, explained:
“Crimson & Co’s scprime® approach ensures that performance, improvement and standardisation are inextricably aligned to the business as a whole; critically, it is done by the business, not to the business, and as such, becomes part of its core culture.”
Guest Dr. Janet Godsell, Cranfield School of Management, said:
“The principles behind Supply Chain Excellence are simple; generating step-change improvement in a supply chain to support business strategy. This book is the starting point of that journey.”
scprime® identifies performance weaknesses and prioritises improvements. It prepares the ground for major IT implementations or acquisitions, is a driver of longer-term continuous business improvements and has been used in over 20 countries and on five continents.
We would like to extend a huge ‘thank you’ to all of our guests for their participation in the evening and for such positive feedback.
