'Crimson & Co in the Community' Update
Thanks to everyone who sponsored James Smith, who ran the length of Hadrian’s Wall for charity! He ran 84 miles in three days, so that's more than three back to back marathons, and he finished in Newcastle on the 3rd September. James raised over £1,000 for Get Kids Going, a charity that provides disabled children access in to the sporting arena. As someone who has gained so much from playing a wide variety of sports it seemed a most worthy cause.
Thanks to everyone who sponsored Alison Walthew and Jane Powell, who ran 5k in The Chester Race for Life, in June. They successfully exceeded their donation targets and raised £250 for Cancer research. Cancer Research UK is the world's leading independent organisation dedicated to cancer research. Over the past 10 years alone, thousands of lives have been saved through earlier detection and improved treatments.
